In his tenth year at James River, Coach Helberg enjoys one of the highest winning percentages in the region (76%). Coach Helberg was an assistant at Monacan for two years before joining the Rapids. A graduate and standout wrestler of Longwood University, Coach Helberg is a three-time VA state collegiate champ, a national qualifier (ranked fifth in the nation as a senior), and is listed fourth on the all-time win list. After graduating from Longwood, Coach Helberg remained in Farmville and served as the assistant coach for a year. In high school (Osbourn Park HS, Manassas, VA), Coach Helberg placed third in the state at 189lbs. Coach Helberg lives in Henrico County with wife Kelly and their 2 children.
